Kunshan pilot "oil to water" pilot guides paint coating enterprises to reduce from the source

Date:2020-07-13 17:22Views:
As the leader of the top 100 county-level cities in China's economy, paint companies in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province gathered, and VOC (volatile organic compound) pollution is serious.
Studies have shown that when VOC reaches a certain concentration, people will feel headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, etc. in a short period of time. In severe cases, convulsions, coma, and damage to the liver, kidneys, brain, and nervous system will occur. VOC has been proven to have a huge impact on human health.
Kunshan pilot "oil to water" pilot guides paint coating enterprises to reduce from the source
After the implementation of "oil to water" by Nanbao Resin (China) Co., Ltd., the quality of the surrounding environment improved significantly, and a large number of egrets began to inhabit the woods of the plant.
VOC pollution cannot be underestimated, traditional solvent-based coatings will be replaced
In order to promote enterprises to reduce VOC emissions from the source, the Kunshan Environmental Protection Bureau held the "Kunshan Coating Waterborne Industry Association Summit Forum". Nearly 250 people from upstream and downstream enterprises in the paint industry chain participated in the forum, including water-based platform member units and coating companies in Kunshan.
"There are more than 100 paint spraying enterprises in Kunshan, more than 400 spraying lines, and more than 10,000 tons of paint solvent annually. VOC pollution cannot be underestimated." Chen Yinhong, deputy director of Kunshan Environmental Protection Bureau, said that as early as 2008, Kunshan began to explore effective methods for VOC pollution control. Changing the paint to a water-based paint using water as a solvent will significantly reduce VOC emissions. "Oil to water" has become an option to guide companies to reduce emissions and increase efficiency.
"At present, domestic environmental policies have been introduced one after another. Under this pressure, the process of'oil to water' will be greatly accelerated. In the future, coatings will develop towards water-based coatings, powder coatings, UV-curable coatings, and high-solid solvent-based coatings. Traditional solvent-based coatings will be gradually replaced. Today,'oil to water' has been accepted and given implementation by Kunshan enterprises, and has taken root in the market operation." Chen Yinhong said.
The water-based paint production line has no pungent smell, and many enterprises have joined the ranks of "oil to water"
Sun Decong, chairman of Nanbao Resin (China) Co., Ltd. admitted that the original paint production line was pungent. And it is understood that before the end of 2015, VOC sewage charges collection management methods will be introduced. Therefore, it is a wise choice for the sustainable development of enterprises to change the production mode and meet the environmental protection requirements.
At present, Nanbao Resin has invested nearly 30 million yuan, formed a research and development team of about 50 people, modified the existing production line, and specially developed and produced water-based industrial paints.
Sun Decong said that many production enterprises in Kunshan have taken the initiative to join the ranks of "oil to water".
"Four years ago, the company implemented the C2C environmental protection strategy, and all the production lines used water-based paint, and the monthly sprayed area of the product was as high as 100,000 square meters." Wang Haiye, executive director of Goodbaby Group, said that when water-based paint was used, the production cost increased As a result, consumers do not buy it, resulting in low sales. However, with the increase in people's awareness of environmental protection, the current increase in sales has led to a decline in operating costs.
This year, a paint production line of Yaoma Vehicle Industry China Co., Ltd. changed to water-based paint. Jiang Shunfeng, an employee who has been working for 12 years, said: "The water-based paint production line is almost tasteless, and the pungent smell from the nearby paint spraying line makes us very uncomfortable."
VOC emissions have been greatly reduced, and product quality has been improved to sell more widely
"In recent years, the company has replaced organic solvents with water, and has made a major breakthrough in research and development. Moreover, the product has also formed a diversification. At present, water-based wood paints with flame retardant functions have been introduced, and they are used for coating aluminum-magnesium alloys, plastics, glass rubber Installed water-based paint. This year, the company's water-based industrial paint sales have reached more than 200 million yuan." Sun Decong said. At the same time, the company changed the original two paint production lines to produce water-based industrial paint, and reduced the annual VOC emissions by 1,200 tons. After that, all remaining paint production lines will be “oil to water”.
Since 2012, Kunshan Baiyulan Furniture Co., Ltd. has started trial production of waterborne coatings in batches. It uses the world's most advanced automatic coating lines for waterborne paints from Germany and Italy. The physical properties of the products have reached the standards of oily paints and passed the United States. The Cabinets Association (KCMA) strictly inspected and passed the US UL green certification of higher standards in 2014, and became the first wooden furniture enterprise with comprehensive water-based coating in China.
Talking about the benefits of "oil to water", the company's chairman Shen Zhongmin is like a family treasure. First of all, VOC emissions have been greatly reduced. Based on the output of enterprises in 2013, if oil-based paints are used, the total atmospheric VOC emissions for the whole year will be 1,145 tons. After using water-based paints, the total annual VOC emissions will be only 19 tons, a drop of up to 98 %. Secondly, the efficiency of spraying has been greatly improved. Previously, the efficiency of oil-based paint spraying was only 35% to 40%, but now the efficiency of water-based paint spraying has jumped to more than 79%, both reducing costs and improving product quality. At present, the annual export volume exceeds 50 million US dollars, which is very popular in the European and American markets.
Sun Decong said that the mature technology of domestic water-based industrial paints and coatings and water-based spraying equipment, the overall cost is not much higher than oil-based paints. Early transformation and upgrading will benefit the enterprise early.
